Six rooftop units. One crane. A business that needed to stay open through all of it. That's the kind of job that separates crews who can handle commercial HVAC work from those who can't.

Here's what we were working with - aging RTUs that had run their course, a flat commercial roof, and a client who couldn't afford major downtime. We brought in new Trane units and used roof curb adapters to make the swap clean and code-compliant. The curb adapters matter more than people realize. They let the new units drop right into the existing roof openings without major structural modifications, which keeps the job moving and limits disruption to the building.

The crane work is where logistics really come into play. Getting six units off and six new ones up requires tight coordination between our crew, the crane operator, and the building - all without creating a safety hazard or a mess. Every lift has to be rigged correctly. Every unit has to land in the right spot. There's no room for guessing when you're swinging equipment over a commercial rooftop.

What we're proud of here isn't just the mechanical work - it's the execution. The business kept running. The crew worked through the summer heat safely. And when we wrapped up, the building had six brand-new Trane RTUs properly installed and ready to perform.

Multi-unit commercial HVAC replacements like this take real planning. If your building is running on aging rooftop units, this is the kind of work we do every day.
